SAVIOUR

I was staying the same

I never did change

It seemed I was tamed

Seemed I was deranged

I was down in the dust

The battle, I lost

Admist all the wars

My heart went off course

As I was led astray

I found not the way

My life had lost flavor

I needed a saviour

I was locked up underground

Not allowed to make a sound

My tears made no difference

I was my only witness

At the basement of my enemies' fortress

My hope, my only buttress

Was lost, so I could profess

I needed someone to get me out of here

I was humiliated by the guards on liquor

Anyone could tell, I needed a saviour

I needed a saviour, I needed a lord

I needed someone sent from above

A new prisoner shared my cell with me

But he was my saviour, he had the key

He only required I followed his lead

I've already lost everything, it's a good deal

I was in awe of his glory and how he healed us

So I followed him everywhere, his name is Jesus

-Valley's poet
